The Cotton Farming - 1 project focuses on structured cotton cultivation and collection operations in Jhenaidah, one of Bangladesh's most established cotton-growing districts. This 6-month project covers the complete production cycle—from land preparation and sowing to intercultural operations, picking, grading, and delivery to ginning partners—maximizing value through disciplined input planning and assured buyer offtake.
Under this project, investor funds will be used to support verified cotton farmers across Jhenaidah in sourcing quality seed, fertiliser and crop protection inputs, managing cultivation through the growing season, and supplying graded seed cotton to established buyers. The project is designed to generate returns in the range of 9.10%–11% at the end of the 6-month tenure, allowing investors to participate in a crop backed by a fixed farmgate price and steady demand from Bangladesh's spinning industry.
WeGro ensures safe and efficient operations through farmer verification, field-level production monitoring, quality control at picking and grading, and timely sales execution with contracted ginning partners. Because domestic lint supply meets only a small share of national mill demand, cotton carries unusually low price risk for a field crop—offering investors operational discipline paired with the enduring strength of Bangladesh's textile value chain.
