The Onion Farming – 12 project focuses on financing short-cycle onion cultivation in Pabna, a key onion-producing region with established farming practices and strong year-round market demand. Onions are a staple crop in Bangladesh, with relatively predictable cultivation timelines and price stability during the harvest window.
Under this project, investor funds are used to support farmers with essential inputs and cultivation expenses, including quality seeds, fertilizers, land preparation, irrigation, and crop management support. The 3-month duration aligns with the primary onion growing and harvesting cycle, enabling quick capital turnover and timely project closure.
WeGro manages project execution through farmer verification, crop planning, regular field monitoring, and supervised recovery. The short tenure, localized operations, and steady demand for onions help reduce operational risk while offering attractive short-term returns to investors.
